ZP Meals in Montague HomeThis is a featured page

You'll find the very easy instructions for inserting info into this wiki at the bottom of this message.

Welcome to our collaborative "Wiki" website for planning the Montague Farm Cafe. We are in the process of adjusting our Cafe oversight and volunteer coordination.

*** WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO OUR NEW LOCAL BUSINESS SPONSOR, THE SOLAR STORE. IT JOINS OUR OTHER WONDERFUL BUSINESS SPONSOR, LIGHTLIFE IN PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE CAFE. PLEASE SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION BY SUPPORTING THESE THREE FINE FRANKLIN COUNTY BUSINESSES. ***

If you want to volunteer for the Feb. 19th Cafe, please list your name in the appropriate area(s) below, and please include your email or best way to contact you.

Be the point person for the meal! Extra Karmic Points. (This person looks at the list of volunteers on the wiki the week prior and nudges more people to sign up, as needed. A few days before the Café, this person sends out an email reminder to everyone on the list. This person also has this list during the meal and helps people show up for their allotted tasks and organizes volunteers on the spot as needed. This is the person people report to–all volunteers should cc the point person on relevant communications.)

Danielle Martineau (dnmartin@student.umass.edu)

Food Prep: Help Mira Friday before the cafe, 3-6pm or Saturday morning 8-11am (SPECIFY times you'll come. Mira will regularly check list in supply closet to make sure enough cutlery, plates, cups, gloves and related supplies are present.)

Health and Wellness Coordinator: (Contact people from health and wellness list to see who is coming. Make sign up sheets for health and wellness offerings. Laurie (laurie@zenpeacemakers.com) has the template for that. Post signs on the easel downstairs and make room assignments with signs taped to rooms. Signs are in the Café Prep Box. Make sure AA meeting is posted. Take all signs down at the end of the day. Facilitate the blessing circle introductions of all health and wellness providers.)

-

Health and Wellness Provider: list here if you have licensing (as needed) and want to provide a health and wellness offering at this meal.

-

Entertainment Provider: Providing Creative Activity/ Entertainment, starting at 1:20

Ride Coordinator: Call List of Attendees to see who is coming and needs a ride. Contact drivers, listed below, to see who can do pick-ups and returns, making Googlemap Routes for these drivers if needed. Get a sense of who can do return drives from that list. Be at the meal and make sure people arrive (ideally have a cell phone contact) and coordinate the return rides from your list and from others that step forward and can return people.

Post signs and sign-ups for health and wellness offerings. All supplies are marked and in bins in the supply closet across from dining area bathroom.

Facilitator: Facilitate the Circle before we eat –bring us together at 12:30, appoint someone to say prayer, call on Mira to describe meal, call on health and wellness person, etc.

Clean up Coordinator: (You will have a list of tasks for both dining area and kitchen and you will have helpers.) This person will delegate and make sure there is no trace left. The clean up can start at 2:15. The dishes will already be mostly washed by then. The list of tasks to delegate includes: -tidying dining area tables (including wipe down), sweeping that room well, dumping coffee and cleaning that out –the coffeemaker can stay on table, putting trash in bins to the left of farmhouse, unplugging tea, generally tidying up the dining area, putting cig bucket back under eaves outside, breaking down serving tables if they were outdoors. In kitchen, this means sweeping, putting clean Kitchen items away, finishing any dishes.

Clean Up Crew (2nd Shift): You will be given specific tasks mentioned above by the Clean-up coordinator. This is another Good-Karmically Loaded Offering!

"Wiki" instructions!

Now for the instructions about how you can sign up for one of these tasks in the above list. It's very easy.

After you decide how you would like to be involved in the upcoming meal, click "Easy Edit" (you'll see it if you scroll up to the top of the page -it's right above the words ZP MEALS and inside an orange circle.)

Scroll back down to the SIGNING UP area and type in your name and other needed info (i.e. kind of food you are preparing if that is relevant.)

Click "Save" (once you're in edit mode you will see it up at the top in an orange tool bar.)

You will be asked if you want to send an end note. Say "Skip End Note."

You are all set. It's that simple!

Your name and other info will now be included on the Wiki for everyone to see, so we can develop this collective plan for the upcoming meal.
Here's to "many hands" and a beautiful meal.
